3D Interior Decorating Technology Makes Design Previews Possible
Interior design has gotten into the technology game in a big way, with very popular 3D software. The way the software works, all decisions about color, furniture placement and what and where to hang pictures or shelves or maybe a clock on the wall can be settled before you ever pick up a brush, move a couch or nail a hole in the wall.
You can play with colors and design without paying a dime for more than one gallon of paint. You can print out multiple designs in the same room and spend time thinking about what you like best, instead of what might look good. You can sit in the room you want to decorate and instantly change wall colors, sofa sizes, curtain rods and table needs in one click of your mouse, instead of multiple trips to the furniture or hardware store.
There are many suppliers of 3D design software. For those with the most basic rooms with the most basic needs as far as design is concerned, there are free websites that will allow you to construct rooms that are approximately the same size as your room, with a similar lay out of doors, windows and the like. These sites typically have a set number of design templates and they offer limited maneuverability. These sites are fun for anyone wanting to play with colors together, or perhaps get a very simple idea of what they are going for.
For the more detail inclined interior designer or home decorator, there are other program sites available that will actually allow the designers to submit a photo or dimensional mock up of the room they want to redecorate. The company will then program that room onto the computer for you to play with on your own. This way, there is a window in the right place in the right shape and at the right size so you can really see how those curtains or curtain rods will look.
The most technologically advanced designers can also buy software that will allow them to program any room on their own. Dimensions are input by the designer and the program can be used over and over again, depending on the number of designs you wish to create. A lot of these are fabulous programs, with the ability to scan in specific patterns and colors that will match exactly what the designer is interested in placing in the room.
These programs all allow a designer the instant gratification of determining which color palates actually do create the most visually appealing room possible. Each program also keeps costs on pre-design decisions to a minimum, and for people who like to decorate often, lets the user change their mind before they?ve ever had to get out of their chair.
