The scale in which the measurement of the curtain is being done is very important to note for a person. If you or the expert has measured the curtain in some scale, the tailor should follow the same scale while stitching the curtain. Measurement of a door frame made in inches should be kept in mind in inches while purchasing or stitching the curtain. The tailor needs to cut the cloth in the same scales that you have followed while taking measurements to avoid problems.

Lastly and most importantly, the width of the pole of the window or of the curtain track should be measured, and not of the window itself. Likewise, when you are measuring the length of the curtain, keep in mind where you want the curtain to drop: to the floor, to the window sill or below the window sill. Moreover, the length should be measured from the top of the rack to the point where you want the curtain to end.
