Then loose the faucet for opening it and allow if there is any water. Put in the sink drain plug. Usually faucets have tiny screws and it is not necessary you would loose it one to low the drain.

Then displace the pipe handle. Almost all the handles are joined with a screw which is kept covered in a decorative cap that can be opened with a small screwdriver. Displace the joints those are in working condition of the pipe and inspect the type of repair necessary.

There are five different class of faucets: compression, washer less, cartridge(sleeve), ceramic disk and ball type.

A compression faucet is the most dependable and it depends on rubber washers to lock the valve seat. These rubber washers tends to drained out easily but it has to be changed once in a time. The next type which is the washer less faucets, has a more longevity but those can also evolve leaks. With the rest type of faucets either you can change the O-ring or neoprene stamp or renew the entire thing.

O-rings has sizes from 3/8 to 5/8 inch, so it is tough to co-relate the size of the pipe with your required pipe.
